If we don't win the Europa then he loses his job at the end of the season. I suspect everyone on this forum feels that Ange will be fired if we do not win the Europa. There is no argument there.
He is a dead man walking.
I cant see any way we win the EC. We are playing dire football every game and our strikers are pretty crap , as is our midfield apart from Bergvall and Madders, when he gets picked is decent.

Because for some people, how you win, what you stand for, the journey you’ve been on, can be more important than actually winning itself.

That’s why I actually wasn’t at all fussed at Mourinho being sacked before the cup final. Winning with him and in his way - I maintain there was more chance winning with Mason given the squad had stopped playing for Mourinho; people may remember things differently - it just would not have sat well with me.

I get I’m probably in the minority here, but winning at any cost, that’s not for me.

I hugely respect this post.

My feeling was that the sacking of Jose was too late. I always remember the last game of this season. Leciester never recovered from it. That was the year that they were destined to get CL football again and all its financial rewards. Relegation followed. 6 games after that cup final Mason had mostly unscrambled all those players heads from the Jose way. He let them express themselves, but still had the defensive discipline with a double pivot midfield. The dressing room was lost way before that final and I bet there were undercurrents forming against Jose everywhere at the time. There was also the massive issue of lip service going on with the players. I remember a guy like Sonny just sulking on the pitch, and refusing to do what Jose had asked him down the left channel.

You know I've always been there too mate.

I have to say
And I’m gonna contradict what I’ve said before …
But I do like Thomas frank as an option
It’s hard to tell how much of his role is governed by the structure at Brentford
He did play very good football in the championship
And he is flexible I think
Also he comes across just as a great bloke which matters to me as a fan

I think the Brentford structure is way more than Frank but it is all designed to make Frank successful. That is what we need to recreate, if we haven't already with this new setup.

Frank would definitely be ready for that next challenge after a long stint at Brentfiord. He's almost becoming a little like Moyes was at Everton. Hugely respected but naturally constrained.

I do like Marco Silva though. He's a very organised manager who's had some really relevant experience. Another coach that makes players better and gets them punching above their weight.

I'll join you.
The game is about glory...
And it’s for that reason that 2019 hurt us all so, so, so much. It would’ve meant so much more, an achievement that would’ve been hard to eclipse in our lifetimes…

Not just because it was the CL - vs the league cup - but because of HOW we had got there and for the journey we’d been on.

Yes indeed, I'm sure you've picked your way through my hefty posts on that precise angle of it all. Where I differ is that I genuinely don't think everyone felt the pain of that defeat in the same sense, and it is why when we sacked Poch I remember reliving what I said at the Wanda when that pen was given ("We don't deserve nice things") and why I realised - ESPECIALLY with the absoloute clam they replaced him with - that it was never, ever, ever going to be quite the same again...yes indeed mate...sigh...

People who believe in no go zones have never actually been to the place they believe is a no go zone.

Cambodia in 99 pol pots number 2 up for trial so it kicked off. Sri lanka in 2008 tamil tigers last stand. I've been in a few places the embassys have said don't travel to at the time.
London is more intimidating.

Went travelling last year. Apart from seeing a dead guy in the road in phnom penh felt fairly safe. Got back home. On my road within a week there were 2 stabbings and a daughter did an acid attack on her own mother. None of it made the news ofcourse. Yet have friends who have been moved to tottenham. They say it's hell.

As soon as i get enough money i'm out of this country.

I don't think you would be on your own for alot of that.

Same reason I can't be doing the self loathing "ohhh every is so much better than us" stuff which comes up often on here.

This country is also never as bad as what people make out given there at 8m in the capital, spent most of my 30 years work and life living in London and not had a single issue, which could mean I am lucky, but given my volume of time in the city I doubt thats the case

I think it’s just how comfortable people feel. No more, no less
I know some ladies in Luton who are cracking colleagues (or were when I worked with them)
They are Muslim and very smart and confident. They wouldn’t go to certain parts of Luton on their own (their words) at certain times of the day and that was areas I believe were predominantly people with similar heritage to them.
It’s their choice and how comfortable they felt
I’ve never ever had any agro or issues at Tottenham myself but I’ve only been there for matches days, but I have stayed late many times
We did have a cracking moment a long while ago when we left a pub and 2 mates decided to get their hair cut. We went into what was clearly an Afro Caribbean barbers and the owner said we don’t do your kind in here… all said in slight jest. My mate said I only want a trim to which he replied “I don’t do gingers mate”
They did cut their hair though and my mates were more than happy
We all sat there and chatted to the locals about match day issues like parking and also where is good to eat
