Is he now statistically our worse manager ever?

Wrt the PL this will be our worse number of losses and worse number of points totalled (unless we pull a run of wins out of nowhere)

I don't think we'll get more than 39 points (2 more draws) you'd have to go back to 76/77 to find a season we recorded lower (33) though in todays money that would have been 45 points and a slightly better ppg (45 points from 42 games vs 39 from 38)

Its so bad

It is very disheartening to lose matches in this sort of manner and it keeps happening. This should have been a derby but they gave us no chance, we played like a 15th place team that we are. Even if we win Europa League we are going to be some sort of Ten Hag's United, not a match for the top teams but sneaking in a trophy somehow. This is not sustainable and it wasn't for United either. I was prepared to forget everything if we won the Europa League and I still am, but I fear that next season we will be mid table too if he stays.

There is a massive IF with the EL and I get it, but TBH despite the whole "if we wins it" stuff.........this season has been a disaster. If the EL was not so poor in depth and quality there is no reason we would be as deep as we are IMO. The fact us, United, Bodo and Rangers made it so far is telling.

Today doesn't matter in the bigger picture, but what is unacceptable is the complete lack of tactics/structure/patterns of play/fight

As posted in the match thread, The players will deserve the credit if we do manage to win the EL (With our defending V Bilbao in a potential final? lol) I trust them to do what is needed and ignore the manager
I don't.

Midtable?! We will be lucky to avoid relegation

I think it’s going to take a very good manager to get us up to a competitive mid table next season.

Or someone who is organised and competent. I watched Palace yesterday and you could see the coaching oozing off the pitch, they all knew their role, they were organised and they had a plan for with and without the ball. Yes they have some outstanding talent BUT their coach is the key

Nah not having that. Of course it's not quite as strong as when you had the CL drop outs but there were some good sides in the EL. And we knocked out a good Frankfurt team who are 3rd in Bundesliga. And there is of course Bilbao still in it. And Boro are a very good team, just because they are a less glamorous name doesn't change that just like when it was a Spurs v Ajax semi final in the CL it was two 'smaller'/less fancied sides who had knocked out bigger teams on the way on merit.

I'm all for being critical of Ange but some are just trying to downplay what would be, like it or not blatantly our biggest accomplishment for many years. Not that I think it will happen but it certainly would be....

IF we win it will be an achievement, but we have lost 19 in the league and lets not pretend its all been part of some master plan to win the EL, also the EL form is at odds with the PL results so you have to consider its a weaker comp than the PL, hence as I say the final 4 include us, United and Bodo, I mean you can't really not see the trend there.

But my major point is...........there is alot of IF we win about it, if we don't win its an absolute disaster of a season and I can't be having these kind of hypothetical or fantasy ideas that winning the EL is some king of master stroke/plan than Ange has been in control of

We need to do everything we can to get Glasner. He is our next ‘Pochettino’.

Im not sure anyone has said it's all been some sort of master plan? But what is clear is that we had a massive injury crisis, and by the time we had come out of it the opportunity to go for Europe via the league had gone. And since the players out have returned, I'm not sure there has been a single game where we have played our strongest team. Why is that? Because Ange no doubt with the agreement from Levy, had decided at this point better to put all the eggs in the EL basket. Hence why we are constantly watching mish mash teams in the league.

It doesn't mean had we been playing our strongest eleven every week we would be doing much better in the league, it doesn't mean there was some big master plan all along to just isolate going for the Europa League. But after the injury situation it was the most logical thing to do considering the only way we would get European football....

But that hasn't happened though, we navigated the bulk of the EL with the same side we had in the PL, the players came back from injury later on by pure circumstance of their injuries, they were not rested or chosen to play here and there. For Frankfurt maybe, but the rest we navigated with virtually the same availability in the PL.

The point is, the EL has not been some kind of genius operation whilst the PL has been put on the backburner, there is a reason we are as far as we are in it.

Glasner won the EL with Frankfurt previously - don't know a lot other than that but it looks like he knows his onions

He also plays a formation that would suit our players down to the ground. Crystal Palace though do have an underrated ability to them. I do question whether he will leave should Palace win the cup as he may well want to take them into Europe if they win.
