I'm trying so hard to stay behind Ange, but this plan A, plan A, plan A nonsense is admittedly dragging me down. Is it even a good plan A?
Some would believe that Ange plays a sophisticated system that needs more time to bed in. I've been seeing a lack of sophistication for a while now. It looks disorganised and chaotic. Ange's system is also becoming so easy for PL team analysts to inform their 1st team coaches how to set up.
I wasn't surprised to see Nuno move to start with a 4-2-3-1 team and go head to head with us, using MGW and Elanga to flood the midfield. Nuno was then smart enough to move his guys into a 3-5-2 becoming 5-4-1 in the second half. Ange's system never works well against back 3's.
Worth remembering that Nuno joined Forest at the same time as Ange joined us. He's already got multiple tactical systems of play, buy in from players and only net spent £13m last summer. He has them 3rd in the table right now.
I think we now have to give it 5-6 weeks and see whether there are positive signs. It's not necessarily about results because of the fixture list and the injuries, but we need to see more with our own eyes from Ange by the end of Jan.
