Personally I think Kane Son and Bale in the team would be a nightmare because we'd never have possession of the ball, all three are going to shoot from anywhere + everywhere plus without selling Bale we probably wouldn't have got Eriksen...And he was the fulcrum, the one that kept the ball moving for most of Poch's reign, whilst Dembele wasn't out of action anyways..

IIRC Eriksen was snapped up as something of a bargain buy which was part of the appeal, he also wasn't bought as a direct replacement for Bale. So I'd like to think we'd have picked him up in any case.

Hmm that's a fair point, it could've been the case. It's just once you go in to the dreamland of everything working out everything obviously starts to lean in our favour. As my previous post suggests I'm not a huge fan of that way of thinking. Don't get me wrong I love back to the future as much as the next guy (apart from the weird incest vibes) but once you start altering things in the past everything else may not be the same as it was!

I'm not sure if I've been clear, now I'm confused haha.
Honestly it hits that nerve of us over-rating the teams we've had. Don't get me wrong, with a few changes here and there they can look like world beaters on paper but therein lies the problem. A real stinging reminder is a look at some of the Utd lineups that beat us over the years, cobbled together over rated dogbrick yet we claim we were one player away from winning multiple CLs? Please (as in, the sassy puuuhleeaase).
Anyways, happy anniversary of signing Bale yesterday to everyone! Up there alongside Kane for player most people were totally wrong about at one stage or another (me being one yid among many singing "he plays on the left" in reference to Bale at Goodison Park one time a while back
