My feeling is, Rose is a grafter and Poch likes that attitude. So if he trains hard and plays his way back in, taking his chances when Davies needs to be rotated or gets injured, then Poch will give him a fair crack.

Pretty much my feeling as well, i think he was stupid and disrespectful to his team mates by saying what he did. However IF Poch decides to keep him so be it, however he may find it hard to get his place back from Davies who is improving all the time.
 
Listening to Tyler or one of the commenting team on the England game and he said Rose was a couple of weeks away from returning!

Yep, the last update from club was

- Lamela would be close to available at end of international break
- Rose would likely be a couple of weeks behind.

If we could have Wanyama, Dembele, Rose & Lamela all back before December, it could make a huge difference.

It's why its important to stay in the cups until then at least.

That is a quality set of four players, who would walk into most if not all teams in the league. Massive boost squad wise if we can keep everyone else fit for a bit.
 
Call me a fool if you like, but I'm still inclined to give Rose some leeway. He was being lauded as one of the best two full backs in the league -- the only question was really whether he was better than Kyle Walker! A nailed-on starter for one of the most exciting teams in the league, playing a formation that relies on its full/wing backs. Good times.

Then he gets injured. Is this the biggest injury in his career so far? He watches Ben Davies (who he probably thinks of as a bit of a plodder) come in as we sail through the end of the season (I don't subscribe to the "Spurs have thrown it away again" crap) scoring loads of goals. He trains on his own all summer too. He just wants to play.

This season starts, Davies still doing well in what Rose considers his place. He's frustrated, and rightly so. He's also hurting, mentally and probably physically. He's also a young man, still 27. I know I was a bit of a tit during my 20s, and I'm sure I'm not alone. He's being egged on by his entourage, many of whom may be wastes of space hangers-on just wanting money and reflected glory.

He wants desperately to win the Premier League, having come so close, and sees our competitors splashing the cash. He starts thinking that he's only mortal and has lost his last chance to win it with Spurs. So he mouths off to the press.

Were his comments ill-advised at best and, at worst, plain disrespectful? Yep. Will I turn a blind eye, assuming that Poch has a word before re-integrating Rose into the team? Yep.

You talk sense there. Rose will be thinking about Russia too, which means first team action for the second half of the season. He should still be able to get in our team for the big games but he'll have to work damn hard before Poch gives him a start. That's a situation which benefits us. I don't think Levy/Poch will let him go in January, as they know how this season is crucial to us moving into the new WHL on a good direction, i.e. Champions league.

I'll continue the love-in by quoting you. Forgot about the WC at the end of this season. A motivated (and professional) Danny Rose trying to win his place back from Davies would be a massive win for us. And if he does choose to leave, surely it'd make it more likely for us to get Sessegnon once he sees that he can slot straight into the squad. In the same way that Morata may well have come to us if Kane wasn't blocking his path to CF glory.
 
What happens with Danny is completely down to Poch.

What we don't know is if Poch has erased Danny from his plans in the manner he has done with everyone else who has stepped out of line.

Danny won't know yet as there is, and was, no point Poch getting into a conversation that is irrelevant while the player in question is still injured. We will know more when Rose is available, but even then Poch will cut his cloth accordingly, depending on our need for Rose.

It looks as though we definitely need him short term, he is quality and we only have the one other left back option. BUT Poch will use him in the way it suits the club now, Rose has said his piece but Poch always has the last word. Imo this is Danny's last season here.
