Danny Rose

They say we need leaders.
Danny attitude and passion is fantastic. Looks to be the type character we need at Spurs and England we are in desperate need of a bit of plain speaking from players. He impresses me greatly typical Yorkshireman.

Leaders don't insult the rest of their team to the press. Leaders don't sneak off to the press because double the average UK salary per week is too little for them to live on. Leaders don't sign a new contract, not play for 6 months then demand a payrise.

Still better than Davies and that's what really counts. I really don't give a stuff what is printed in the press.

Better than Davies is a very marginal call at best. Take into account the moral hazard of choosing someone who acts like Rose over someone who acts like Davies and I think our team disintegrates fairly rapidly.

Leaders do suffer from depression. Leaders do make mistakes. Leaders do stupid things sometimes. Leaders can be a grab-bag, potpourri combination of seemingly contradictory components.

Good ones think before they act. Rose is incapable of that - it's what makes him both a good footballer and a liability at the same time.

Not for me, he has a great 12 months but he has been here for 10 years ( i know he has spent time out on loan) but he has played 163 games for us and most of them were nothing special. Davies for me is our number I left back and should stay that way.

Really hope we are being a bit cheeky as a club and telling Rose he has a future here all the while contacting Shaw's people saying here is what we will offer him and he can play for Poch again. Then boom get a good season out of Rose to sell him on and get Shaw someone who Poch clearly likes.

Also think Shaw must have quite a lot of mental strength to come back from that horrific injury and play under a manager like Mourinho who slags him off.

Particularly just as everyone was positive for the new season. I think he is a good player but I simply do not trust him.

If what is printed in the press true, then it needs to be considered
 
He is better than Davies when he's playing to his potential. Given he's 28 I'd say his best years could be the next two or three. His drive, ability and pace haven't gone anywhere so I think we'd be doing Utd and Jose a favour if we flogged him to them for 30m or around that price.
 
He still get caught out of position at the back post and we were lucky on a couple of occasions yesterday when he did so.
