Dominic Solanke

Not to turn another subject into a Bournemouth comparison :).... considering they play a high energy game how did they use Solanke as he was scoring regularly (I wonder what his data was like for that season..was he over performing Xg etc?)

Part of the answer is of course the data from last season

Solanke 19 goals, 3 assists
Semenyo 8, 2
Kluivert 7, 1
Senesi 4, 5
Tavernier 3, 4
(Rest of team got not more than 2 goals / assists each)
Solanke had 2 penalties, 4 headers and the rest were mostly right footed shots. Only one listed as a tap in.
Bournemouth 54 goals or, 67 against, -13 GD
12th place finish.

Interesting that 2 of the defenders were in 4th and 5th place in the goal contribution stats and had the most assists.

If I interpret the data correctly Solanke was getting assisted from his other 2 forwards. They were coming from elsewhere in the team. Perhaps the other 2 forwards were acting as foils and creating him the space. Is that happening in Ange's setup?

I didn't see the game, but have felt the same a lot over the time he's been at Spurs. Would it really hurt for his team mates to get some crosses into his zones?

Or some through-balls....

I have to say though, our forward/attacking play is getting worse and almost now as bad as our defending...
