Injuries

If we have lost two more midfielders in madders and a.n.other, then we might well be getting close to Premier League postponement threshold re: Brentford (something a good friend brought up in a whats app group I am in)?

He is desperate for a win. Really sad to watch players give their all and get injured.

Ange should not be playing unfit players. Ange should not keep injured players on because they want to give it another ten minutes. Unacceptable. If a manager in other industries showed such incompetence and disregard for the assets of the business they’d probably get the sack. Mate.

If a player has a small injury but thinks he can give you 45.

Option A - play him for 45, he can't really get about and plays poorly, then is out for weeks

Option B - rest him and play someone who is not quite as good, then play him when fit

It HAS to be option B every time. Every time.

Never risk injured players as they will be lost for 6 weeks.

Never expect a player to play 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 twice per week. Force yourself to change it around so they can stay energised e.g. 90 90 30 90 90 30 or whatever makes sense.
So why can't ange see this?

I don’t normally Steff and while I don’t wish him anything bad personally, he’s one of the worst managers I’ve seen in my 45 years as a fan and I am genuinely concerned that him staying could see us relegated.

Fair enough mate, given my (ahem) lightly expressed opinions on Jose Mourinho, I don't have a leg to stand on with my initial observation...

No chance.

Still got u21 etc registered/ players to recall and they would question why we are playing first team in Europe etc

All applications to postpone a League Match will be considered on their particular facts and on a case-by-case basis. Applications will only be granted where the impact of Player unavailability on a Club’s squad is truly exceptional and where the Club concerned has taken all reasonable steps available to it to avoid the necessity to make the application.

Thanks for posting that video Daisuk. Anton McElhone is a big fan of Ange and says he is a very forward thinking coach with huge knowledge of injury prevention and sports science and doesn't over-train players etc.

Tangentially interesting from Emery's Villa, playing yet another midweek game:
Another defensive headache for Unai Emery as Matty Cash comes off to be replaced by John McGinn.

Villa are already down to one fit centre-back in Ezri Konsa and it appears Lamare Bogarde has gone to right-back while Boubacar Kamara drops from midfield into the centre of defence alongside Konsa.
