James Maddison

Confirmed by the manager as out for 2-3 weeks - calf strain.

I do not like feeling that a player is sacking off, and I do not want to engage in some perverse confirmation bias here (I don't trust Madders)...but it is hard not to feel that this is a bit weird? Would you bet against him being 'OK for dippers'? In a sense if he gets the rest necessary to run that game, then OK?

What the fudge is going on with Romero?????

We need better, we need a player who will go out and give his ALL in every game i do not see Maddison being that player.
I dunno, I think he gives his all its just that his all isn't that great in the grand scheme of thrones. I remember saying that if we signed him I'd be underwhelmed but wouldn't complain. Initially he actually started making me change my view on him but that was just a good spell of form. He is what he is, a decent to good player but not elite which is fine. It just means we shouldn't pin all our hopes and expectations on him.

Someone somewhere (was it this forum's pod?) said Maddison has Tottenham's best goals and assist ratio per 90. Did they/I make that up?

Maddison can be a really neat finisher e.g. Hoffenheim and Southampton, I guess he gets labelled a flat track bully because he disappears in some games and shirks the hard graft. Maybe we should just use him in those games where he excels, and don't let him play the top teams.

Looks like he's had his hair done in the time he's been injured. Obviously builds confidence and it showed today, good performance.
