Kit Thread

Is it a 'nice touch' or 'tactless'/'unncecasary' with the 96 on the back of the collar? I think it would be deemed brilliant for an anniversary, however.... meh... it's not...

Well its nice to see them go back to a Yellow badge and just the liver bird as well, like their kits from the 80's so plus points for that. That messy badge they have recently was just too much.

But the Red just seems a little washed out and its nothing more than a Polo Shirt much like the last England Shirt. But its traditional and simple so has some appeal.

As for the video with them dressed up as Warriors! could you get any more corny? i dont think so!!

Also, they are technically still adidas, so im surprised they could show this. Again another team shows of their new kit before the end of the season even with a manufacturer change. Why cant we!? :(

I have to say it feels wrong to me! also seems like a shameful way to get fans on board with the new shirt to boost sales!

I like the idea of what they're trying to do more than the actual end product.

The crest looks great. But the red doesn't seem striking enough to me, and the shirt styling just looks oddly wrong for some reason.

Oh my days. If anything, the fudging stupid "let's fight everything that references Hillsbrough" is a lot more insulting to the memory of those who died. People died. People die in tragic circumstances all the time. It is now 23 years later - let it fudging go.

The launch of the new Liverpool home kit has prompted an angry response from a number of the families of those killed in the Hillsborough disaster.

The club's home shirt for the 2012-13 season, designed by American company Warrior, was revealed on Friday.

Fans have welcomed the design, but the decision not to consult some families over the decision to move the symbol honouring the dead, has angered many.

The Hillsborough Justice Campaign (HJC) said the actions were "insensitive".

The new shirt sees the club's logo, which featured an image of the Shankly Gates, replaced by the original Liver Bird crest that became synonymous with Liverpool's success in the 1970s and 80s. As a result the two Justice flames honouring the Hillsborough campaign have been moved to the back of the shirt.

The decision to move the flames is not the source of frustration but the decision to only consult one Hillsborough group has sparked anger.

Liverpool did take time to meet with the seven members of the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG) committee but other groups were not consulted.

The HFSG was the first group formed after the disaster in May 1989 and provides support for many of the bereaved families. The HJC also acts for a number of the families but its priority is to fight for the truth behind the events that took place at Hillsborough on 15 April 1989

A HJC statement read: "We have noted that the Hillsborough flames and '96' will now appear on the back of the shirt 'after consultation with family members'.

"We can confirm that no bereaved families of the HJC were contacted or consulted. The first we were aware of this was via the minutes of the Supporters' Committee March meeting. Once again LFC has chosen to ignore the HJC and their families.

"The continued refusal of the club to acknowledge the HJC is insensitive, divisive and deplorable - 96 is more than a number. LFC would do well to remember that."

Liverpool moved swiftly to defend their part in the process and claimed they had made every effort to deal with the issue as sensitively as possible.

A spokesman said: "The club consulted with the HFSG committee and shared a number of alternative designs which were considered.

"The committee selected a design, which includes the number 96 to recognise those who lost their lives. Nobody has more respect for the 96 and their families than this football club."

Mate posted this on FB... Clearly a mock up as the away is an exact negative of the home. Plus we are due a new sponsership deal as I've not heard anything of Autonomy renewing their contract at all.

Loving both of these

I would definitely buy the black kit. The home one is cool also but im loving the black kit.

infact I really wish I could just design my own spurs shirt and have it don in an actual product JUST FOR MY DAMN SELF.

Apologies if either of these questions have already been addressed:

1) Is it me or are we always about the last team to reveal our new kit?
2) When will we see next season's strip? Will it be worn at our last game of the season like it used to be, or is that not done now?

Yes.

Won't be worn. July 7th is the rumoured release date, just in time for our pre season tour in the USA.
