I don't think that ADSY is Belgian

Bodes well for when Marcus swaggers in with some bling, giving it large :-DExcelsior is the smallest club, both in terms of budget (I think) and in terms of support, in the Eredivisie. But they are known for their cultured football, and for giving youth a chance - and despite the odds, they manage to survive every year when bigger clubs (Twente for example) are relegated. Van Persie played at Excelsior for a season before he broke into the first team at Feyenoord. Unlike at some other clubs in the Eredivisie, expectations are low - which might be part of the reason why the move could be the right one for him. His arrival has not been generated much attention in the Dutch press so far (from what I've seen), and he might well get lots of playing time.

Indeed. Will he turn up at 8am and excitedly start learning how to say "pleased to meet you" in Dutch, or will he swagger in at 10.01 with gold headphones on, saying "clean my boots, Poirot"?Bodes well for when Marcus swaggers in with some bling, giving it large :-D
Poirot is/was Belgian.Indeed. Will he turn up at 8am and excitedly start learning how to say "pleased to meet you" in Dutch, or will he swagger in at 10.01 with gold headphones on, saying "clean my boots, Poirot"?
I thought he was Dutch. Like Vertonghan.Poirot is/was Belgian.
Yes, that's my concern as well. Only Matic at Vitesse has succeeded on loan in the Eredivisie to such an extent that he also (sort of) made it back in the Premier League - and he first had to prove himself at Benfica for that.Sounds like it could be a very good move. Probably needs to properly stand out in the Dutch league at this point though.

Just playing regularly would be a good start. He's never played first team competitive games week in and out. Just needs to basics well every week, more than try to stand out, and his skill with add plenty of spice. When is their next game? Can see Spurs fans having a second team this year if he's starting.
You sure? Doesn't say he came on on Livescore. They played this evening, he came on for the final 10 mins or so.
So says my wife tooHe's so small! But a handful. Could have had a assist and a pen.
