Ndombele is a full international and Champions league player. He went to City last year and ran the game. When he plays we play better. Play him and we might not be in this situation.
How is it not pressure to bring him on when losing and asking him to turn the game around?
Do you remember who started against Bayern -and failed to clear the ball twice right before HT? He played some excellent football that night but he was not always sharp covering defensive areas and when in them did not always make the best decisions. Now, before you think I am blaming him (I am not!) let me make it clear that the reason I raise this is because teams and systems take time.
Imagine Poch knew in July that Eriksen, Rose and Toby were all gone. Boom. He can work Ndombele into a system knowing the shape of who will be there. Instead, he has to go into fudging SEPTEMBER because these pack of clams might still be sold abroad! So instead of being able to bring Ndombele into a stable situation he has to work him into a system using players either unavailable or on their way maybe. At City, he let countless people go and we were lucky not to get Bayerned!
I think Ndombele is going to be a genuine star, and with LoCelso looks to be an exciting future. But with the situation right now it could shatter him to park him in matches like this right now.
