Micky van de Ven

Gray and Davies are doing ok. But VDV and Romero allow us to push up and play our system properly. Im hoping they just rested him today. Any news on it?

Tricky one cos ideally you'd want to give him more time with whoever his partner for Liverpool is going to be

Who going to get the nod there Davies or Gray?

Gray has played well, but has played a lot recently. We could go with VDV and a Danso at CB.

Give Gray a bit of a break and bring him on for VDV after 60mins or so. That's if VDV is ok to play

Davies will only even be back up for me.

sounds suspicious
we had 5 kids on the bench and 3 starting at brentford and no fit CBs
even 15 mins for vdv at the end of a match to defend that 1-0 lead would have been progress\
if he can get hurt doing that means he wasn't fit at the last match either

Mate, nothing suspicious there. He wants him ready for Pool and felt the team could do the job. I don't think Ange lies in media about his player's availability.

I thought Ange didn’t listen to the medical team?
Definitely feels like an intentional effort in the messaging to the press in the last week to name check decisions being made in concert with the medical team. Probably a reaction to all those Geoff Scott leaked articles…

Not saying VDV’s injury is indicative of the medical team or Ange’s methods as I have no proof but something has to change as we simply get far too many injuries and I don’t buy that it’s all bad luck. We would need a squad bigger than Chelsea’s to cope with all the injuries we have which just isn’t sustainable. I have a lot of gripes with Ange but there’s no doubt the injuries have contributed to our shocking league form.

Journalist Paul O’Keefe said about Van de Ven’s issue: “He didn’t feel right Saturday and told them."

i would assume he felt right to be included in a match prior - hence it sounds like a (minor) setback to me.
now would you risk starting him for the pool game ? I wouldn't given his history.
