To me it looks like we are too pussy to really go for it. Now we have a nice little excuse in our back pocket so we can say "oh it wasn't our first team" blah blah blah like some posters are already suggesting.

Why didn't we just play the under 12's in the group stages or throw the match against Fiorentina. This is our biggest European night in ages and we are basically throwing the tie.

I'm sorry but i think that is a disrespectful and revolting line up.
I'm trying to stay positive but I am scratching my head about that too. Why go strong in early rounds to go weak when it matters the most? The league taking priority is the only rationale I can think of.

I have no complaints about the lineup. Isnt Alli suspended? Who else do we want to see? Dier? IMHO he had a poor game versus Arsenal. Mason/Carroll need matches especially if they are to gain proper match fitness. Lets support the boys. They have earned it.

PS it is Trippier/Davies turn this week as well. Normal lineup

This line-up only confirms that actually many of the team ARE tired and on the verge of injuries etc...perhaps it's for the best:(

I don't see any possible future permutations that make picking a reserve side against Dortmund acceptable. We aren't going to win. I don't think we'll have a shot. I'll still hope for the best, but I'm definitely fearing the worst. This one could be over by half time.

I can't convey how disappointed I am. Did we get scared and bottle it? Giving ourselves and excuse? Trash, absolute trash. Feeble.

He's weighed it up and made decisions he's felt are right. Having just played two horrible derbies in a week and not having the best of results I can understand the thinking myself. It's unfortunate. I'm sure he would have wanted to play a stronger side but he's taken a gamble. He know what he's getting himself into. Hopefully we'll play them next season again with a first XI.

Anyway lets just see how it goes first. (Yes I'm expecting it to not go so well)

For me the El is not about Cl qualification. This is Dortmund in Europe and it is about the glory.
I get that. I have recalled many times being at the UEFA cup win in 84 and it was one of my top three Spurs watching experiences, but the game has changed and the priorities internally at the club have changed. What the fans want is not considered any more. And I would watt ant that a fair few posters on here would be bleating on about injuries and fatigue to our first team if Poch had put out our strongest line up.

Dont say it. Some people here expect you to be a member of the Spurs staff before you can tell that some players are tired. Also some need match fitness especially for the hectic schedule coming up!! How many games in 10 days again?

Amen brother. If not now, when? Will we play a full strength team against Barca in the semis of the CL? What European stage is big enough these days for the mighty Spurs? I'm pretty disgusted by this. I'd be fudging livid if i was a fan in the stadium and that team ran onto the pitch.

Carroll and Mason? Chadli up front? I can see him competing in the air with Hummels!!! fudge me im annoyed. I'm doing my best not to get too tinkled off, but its damn difficut.

Strange lineup. Maybe the players really are tired. We have played much stronger teams against much weaker opposition in this tournament. Id be very surprised if we get a favorable result.

We were better off resting a few vs Villa. Saying that Villa need a win and you know who loves to give out points sometimes!

Feeling the same here. I no longer feel nervous ! I feel annoyed ! If we don't finish in top 4 this season, want us to opt out of the EL completely next season, even if it means going to Court ! Atleast that will save our pride in Europe ! It is clear Pochettino doesn't rate EL or any of the Cups ! His only target is the league !
I agree. In the future we should try to find legal loopholes to stop us competing in the EL. Sides like Dortmund obviously dont deserve our respect and us putting a full side out.

People need to chill. We have a squad. Poch trusts them all to fill the roles required and they are all bought into the system.

Dont think this is going to be the battering people are expecting. May be a loss but I don't think it will be a massive one.

Let's not give up hope before a ball has been kicked, eh? I hope that our squad has more balls than our fans.

A chance of our first league title since 1961...or a place in the quarter finals of a competition we are in every single year. Poch has got his priorities straight.

We are playing Villa on Sunday NOT Man Utd or Arsenal! I understand some rotation but Mason AND Carrol in front of the defence is going to be scary stuff imo

Also this team isn't exactly a team that's just been cobbled together. How many first team appearances do you think they all have between them? They've all played a significant role in our first team this season

Wow. Huge game for Onomah. And for Mason/Carroll together. Not what I was expecting at all.
A score draw tonight would be fantastic (can't see a 0-0). A defeat by only a couple of goals would be more than salvageable next week. We've got options on the bench if it looks like things are going wrong. I feel strangely serene about tonight. No bad-feeling-in-pit-of-stomach. We might just be OK! COYS!!
