Wanting our nearest neighbours destroyed while saying you are gung ho for Ukraine is funny.
How are Russia doing for military strength/numbers? Have they lost many during this war?
It's hard to be sure, but estimates are about 850,000 causalities, including 250,000 dead. Their army is up to 3 million though. And they are mostly conscripts from the poorest areas of central asia - it's not like their middle classes are losing the children.

It's always been that way, it's easy to replace "others ranks"
They do have a rapidly falling population though. They were already running out of bodies to keep the country going - hence the abducted kids and whatnot.
Also it will not be easy to reintegrate all those brutalised soldiers back into society - they already have significant drink and drug problems.
If you can't beat them.... align with them.So according to reports, these "peace talks" could likely mean Russia gets a permanent hold of Ukraine's land, while the US gets a permanent stranglehold on Ukraine's economy - without any security guarantees or upside in general for Ukraine.
Just not any for Ukraine itself :/You're naive in the extreme if you think Trump isn't extracting "concessions" for this.
This was discussed tonight on newsnight. The Americans want this deal as part payment for what they have already spent in Ukraine. This is a transactional president who does not understand geopolitics at all except where it relates to potential money making. Ironically he is billed as a “man of the people.” In reality, he just wants to make himself, friends and family richer.Mafia protection racket.

If anyone still had any doubt he's fully on Putin's side.President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that Ukraine was responsible for Russia's invasion of the country three years ago, arguing Kyiv could have made a deal to avoid the conflict.
"I think I have the power to end this war, and I think it's going very well. But today I heard, 'Oh, well, we weren't invited.' Well, you've been there for three years," Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort. "You should have never started it. You could have made a deal."

Time for the rest of NATO, the G7 etc to call out this facade of "peace talks"
