Putin & Russia

Its astonishing that he is somehow being lauded.

I listened to his speech and also followed someone who was fact checking it as it went, literally lying his arse off to paint Ukraine now as the bad guys. Honestly its such dark days at the moment

It's only natural that Ukraine should give Russia everything they want and should have done so on day one as they are the weaker of the two. That's how things work in Trump's head.

He's built his entire business empire on being a bully, not honoring contracts and dragging things through the court system until the other part can't afford it any more.

I read that bit and thought Scara had written it

That interview from Trump on Ukraine is the most vile and offensive interview I have ever heard from a Politician.

Absolutely disgusting and we Starmer should publicly condemn him and kick out some US diplomats.

I don't like the EU but I would rather we cosied up to them then a man who is trying to blame Ukraine for the actions of an aggressor like Putin who has caused the deaths of thousands of innocent people.

The point is that Europe cannot rely on the USA anymore.

Zelensky needs to punch the clam in the face.
Yes, this is the pivotal moment for Europe. One hopes the leaders understand the gravity of where we are at and act accordingly. Some do understand, some are still cowed by the myth that is Russia.
Russia's economy is in the bricker - 40% of it now oriented towards war - which is not sustainable for much longer. The EU + UK economy is 10 times their size. The Russian military is completely hollowed out to the point they are dependent on Iran and N Korea for weapons and soldiers. If Ukraine are supported properly it will collapse. Europe needs to invest big, now in their own defence industry, and avoid any US dependence. They are not a reliable partner anymore and likely never will be again.

Agreed, and it has obviously been heading in this direction for 2 years, so why are Europe still just sitting and watching?
We can supply Ukraine with weapons and expertise, they can pay us with money or minerals

Spent more time trying not to upset the US than supporting Ukraine over the last 3 years. If Biden had grown a pair and supported Ukraine properly instead of putting stupid restrictions on them and stopped drip feeding them what they needed, Europe would have done the same this would be over already. Time for all Europe to start giving them what they need and telling both Putin and Trump to fudge off.

Agree. I think hold the nerve for 6 or 9 more months and both Putin's regime and the whole eastern front collapses. Europe and allies just needs to step funding and supplies up for the short term.

I wonder if Zelensky could bluff a full surrender. Say the two options are keep supporting the war, or he'll surrender the entire country into a union with Russia. See what Nato's response to Russia potentially bordering Poland and Romania again are.
