Its the case everywhere for it

The lack of mental health treatment or available outreach in this country is a scandal

...and the pressure on current services -like the police- to be the bridges in such situations is disgraceful.
I would be increasing the hire rate for mental health professionals to become part of police units for 'call outs' and the like so as they could offer an on-spot evaluation of certain situations.
Why isn there no investment in this sort of work?
