So, what happened today?

My friend and neighbour's wife passed unexpectedly during the night. He has a 5 year old. His pain is indescribable. It is just awful...
This is tragic.

Something not that dissimilar happened to a very good friend of my partner. Her husband just passed away in the middle of the night for reasons unknown. He left behind a toddler and an 8-year-old, and a wife who lost all joy in her life. Many years later she still has not really recovered. Heartbreaking.

It is so devastating to see the regrets, the despair, all of it. His parents arrived earlier, but we're all rallying for him and his 5 year old...

These are just the worst. It's hard enough when an elderly relative passes, but when someone with so much life ahead of them departs it is so much harder to take. Such sad news. Thoughts are with them.

Awful that, not sure how I would honestly cope if my wife went like that

Mate, it is unbelievably tough. He's also a bit of a 'traditional' guy, so he has to learn a whole skill-set. His folks are out for a while but the dust will settle and he will be left to make his way as a single dad. We're all doing what we can -listening a lot as he just spins- but the hard work will come down the line. It is just horrible watching the sadness, anger and regret.

Stumbled on this today and not usually a big fan or American comedy, this though had me in stitches, not least for Haders reaction to it all.

Nice break from the negatives

Got myself a new snowboard (well, a second hand one) a while back (had my old one since 1999, haha) - and rode it today, which was sweet. Very weird to finally ride one that wasnt way too short a full of scratches. I was a bit rusy, so almost fell a couple of times (it was icy as fudge). But man do I feel my age now - there is no chance I will ever jump again let alone try any tricks. Oh, well. It was fun!
