The Official 2024/25 Premier League Thread

TNT Sports commentary of Everton v Man Utd was a bit ridiculous I thought. They spent 65 mins fellating Everton, talking about Beto as if he’s Brazilian Ronaldo reincarnated after 5 goals in 6 games or something, and Gueye like he’s prime Claude Makelele…only for football once again to prove that there’s often no rhyme or reason to results. Doucoure put his arm up for some stupid reason in the wall and suddenly Man Utd have a goal and don’t look so useless.

It felt like they were willing Everton to win, so they could keep the pile-on on Man Utd going.

Yep, another fantastic example of sitting back to defend a lead doesn’t automatically mean you don’t concede.

I've always thought you're just asking your opponents to score. It's better to play in their half even if they are a counter attacking team than letting them have easy possession.

Forest is a horrible team. The fact they're 3rd is a complete aberration. Based on their underlying numbers they should be mid table at best, but getting the rub of the green in most games. If we had their luck, we'd be comfortably top 4. And if they keep Nuno, they're idiots, unless their ambition is to just stay in PL.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine haven't looked good at the back this half (didn't see the 1st).

Forest just haven't created the chances though.

City have completely collapsed this year.

How Pep still has the job I have no idea.

They are a disgrace to the money spent.

I reckon it might be related to the court case. Maybe they’ve heard it’s not gone well and have jacked it in. Then again Haaland just signed a new deal with no clauses so who knows. Pep’s going by through a divorce too so that must have had some impact.

Jesus, KDB is finished isn’t he? Been poor whenever I’ve seen him this season but has been absolutely dreadful today.

No doubt he’ll produce something vintage on Wednesday evening now…
