As a "tourist" fan who usually attends with my wife who has very little interest in football and only goes to please me I have to say that my experiences of fellow regular supporters has been nothing but amazing.
From the subtle nods and smiles on the underground platform and in the carriages, the walk up to the stadium and in around the stadium it's always felt very inclusive.
OK it's very difficult at these points to see that we are not regulars, but actually in the stadium and especially in "our" seats it's obvious to everyone.
I've never had anything but a welcoming and positive experience with good interactions and banter from all age groups and demographics, so much so that my wife is now very keen to attend any match we can.
I can tell you in my seat, the problem since opening of new stadium hasn't been tourists or corporates, it's the guy who has been a season ticket holder for 30+ years that can't wait 5 minutes to brick on Winks, Doherty, Royal, Johnson, whoever the latest spacegoat is, it's when the fudging South stand groans at a misplaced pass, it's when a small group of away fans from a club that is likely to lose sing "your support is brick" and "is this the emirates" and there is no response.
Are you anywhere near meThe problem has never been "tourists" or the very British view of "unless you are poor, you are not a real fan" i.e. prawn sandwich commentary.
To start with the positives, the game is way more family friendly than it has ever been, and even in the last decade (partially influenced by new stadium), lots more families, lots more not just sons, but daughters in the game. Most fans at our stadium are reasonably welcoming.
The negative is the expectation of entertainment, the expectation of success (it's a huge reason we have disagreements on this board between mostly rational people, anything but winning trophies regardless of history is somehow "not good enough")
For me, growing up and saying you supported United, later Chelsea and City would be something to be given brick for, fair-weather fan, bandwagon jumper, etc. People were proud they supported their club, regardless of if it had won a trophy this decade or not, you wore your colours because they were your colours, not because you won a trophy last season.

There probably is a thesis you could write on Tottenham, while a lot of what is happening is not unique to us, some is. The clubs position is, too big to get away from expectation (No one talks every fudging day about when last Saudi Sportswashing Machine, Villa or Everton won a trophy. You have people writing about what it would take for Spurs to challenge for things, wtf? we literally have been challenging for 16+ years), too small to be elite.
The media (real and social) has made us rabid, unhappy, expectant asshats who forgot how to support/enjoy the game, the fun isn't the table at the end of the season, it's each fudging game, it's understanding that the game is one time/place in the world where it's ok to be tribal, to be us and them, instead we fight amongst ourselves.
United fans are an interesting example, most my age would have lived through an unprecedented period of dominance, success and stability, look at them now, "done with this club", "laughing stock", like who gives brick mate, success is cyclic, be glad you had that moment in the sun.
Sorry .. long rant to simple statement.

All for the idea I’d building an atmosphere but again, like the trust, tye way they communicate has an arrogance I just don’t get
They are all a bunch of clams.
Thanks for cancelling the light show like we suggested, we really appreciate it BUT you could have told everyone.
Nothing is ever good enough and why are there groups dictating my experience? Non of these groups represent the average fan and its just a group of macarons who want what THEY want done and 90% of it is ridiculous.

Its 100% arrogance now, there is profile being built here and the person behind the account intends to use it for their own gain IMOAll for the idea I’d building an atmosphere but again, like the trust, tye way they communicate has an arrogance I just don’t get
What's with all of these organisations writing to the club in the style of a bottom set 8 year old?
