I don't disregard his talent or potential, I just find the timing of it in our current situation and amount of money potentially involved weird.
Though isn't he currently injured still out for another 3-4 weeks... makes sense there I suppose.

If we accept we're likely to finish about 14th and win nothing, surely its best to make the best possible long term signing for the club we can. Rather than blow the same amount of money on say Rashford and Maguire, who we'll be desperately trying to pay off the wage bill in 12 months time

Yeah, you're right. For some reason I had it in my head that we did the same as Lennon and Rose by buying him at a young age. He was 16 apparently when we brought him down from Hull but wasn't connected to a club.

I'd hope the experience taught him what to expect and now if he's making a move again this time he's ready for it. I wouldn't hold a failed move to the chaos that is Chelsea at 16 years old against him.
We need a RWF even with a fit and firing Johnson, so if he's the guy and he does fit the profile I'm down.
