Bournemouth reportedly want
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder
Victor Wanyama during the final days of the transfer window.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama is one player on Bournemouth's shopping list as the summer transfer window edges towards to its conclusion.
Wanyama has become a fairly frustrating figure at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the last couple of years due to injury. The Kenya international made 36
Premier League appearances in his first season following his £11 million move from Southampton (
fee reported by BBC Sport), but has only played 31 times in the top flight across the two campaigns since.
He was ruled out of Mauricio Pochettino's squad for the Audi Cup due to injury, and he has fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of Tanguy Ndombele this summer. Meanwhile, academy graduate Oliver Skipp continues to impress whenever he is given an opportunity.
And it appears that the former Celtic man could be offered a way out this summer.
The Daily Mail has suggested that
the Cherries are interested in the 28-year-old.
Eddie Howe looks set to go into the new season with a number of players sidelined due to injury, so it would be little surprise if he wanted the club to make the most of the time remaining in the window.
However, a move for Wanyama would be risky. If he can stay fit, he would be an inspired signing for Bournemouth. But the last two seasons suggests that he may be a difficult player to rely on if he did move to the Vitality Stadium.
If they could get him fit and playing, he would be an inspired buy for Bournemouth IMO
