Welcome Ange: To Dare is to Didgeridoo

I'd still prefer him to go and the new man use the funds to a better balanced vision. If the club keep him on though it's totally understandable, I just think we will start racking up the injuries again in the winter and finish midtable. CL will be interesting though if he brings his 'cup' tactics.

That's fair enough, not paying to go is your choice. But you said before you would turn your back on the club - which is a whole different proposition. I just can't comprehend how anyone can cut the ties of a lifeltime like that.
Because it just constantly brings me down. The grind of defeats this season and the arguing with other fans, the atmosphere around the club - its poison. Has been for a while but its been next level this season. I'd already got to the point where I almost didn't care about the final, then I did and I did feel different but all this "mic drop" and "Ange has flicked 2 fingers up to you all" and he's now the messiah. Actually feel like I wish we hadn't won the sodding trophy. Didn't go to or watch the parade. Clips I've seen make me glad I didn't. And when you start to feel as twisted as that, its time to walk. Ive got better things to do with my life than be constantly abused and depressed by THFC and THFC fans.

Would be suicidal against CL quality.

At the end of the day these cup tactics have squeezed us past AZ, Frankfurt, Bodo Glimt and a 16th place PL side.

As a neutral unattached to the euphoria around their victory do we look at Crystal Palace's cup win and expect them to rocket up the PL table and be competitive in all the cups now because they've won a trophy for the first time in decades and they've now suddenly been transformed from a 12th place side? I suspect not. I suspect that we all expect them to finish 12th or around abouts next season and that they probably won't win anything next season.

You've got to apply the same logic to us this season:
Season 1: midtable form from Chelsea onwards
Season 2: midtable form comtinued and then sunk into relegation form from mid season

There is literally zero rational cold analytical reason you could look at us this season and the season before and think we are going to have a good season next season with the added challenge of the CL where you can't really rotate like you can with the Europa due to the quality of the opposition. It's going to heighten further the high injury risk with Ange's coaching and playing style.

Because Ange said with all good tv series, season 3 is better than season 2. Certainly feels like we've been watching a comedy at times over the last 2 seasons.

Although I think Ange is not the man long term, as I said the other day, having spent 17 years of hammering a monkey off our backs and universal ridicule, that now no longer exists with the win in the week. Sacking the person who did that just opens up another new round of ridicule for us to carry for the next GHod knows how many years. "17 years without a trophy and Spurs think they are bigger than............"

I don't think Ange is the man but he has earnt the right to a stay of execution though. Beyond that I am ok with what the club decides.

As for Palace, I think they are a different beast, I expect their team to be torn up and them actually get worse based on the resources afforded to them.

If you’re feeling like that on the back of winning a European cup, then yeah, it’s sounds like you best walk away for a bit. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeh look, losing has been a bad spot and for example me and you came to logger heads on views, but its not personal, its not poison, its different views, we don't agree on everything, the world still turns and the sun shines (sometimes). I have not come into contact with anything poisonous around Spurs and anything that comes close to toxic in terms of say anti semitic abuse of the owners or the stuff about tourists, I just call it for what it is and hope for better. I am personally in a place where despite differing views I honestly believe most people want the same thing and its the passion that spills over that proves that.

I think there are people on here who are clearly just trolling, but you have a few quips and ignore it.

That doesn't make me great or a better man, but just that after years of experience, you adapt and protect yourself and your own mental health as much as anything which then dictates your life, in my experience for better

If though, like you say, its to the point its feeling toxic or you can't separate the two, its maybe time for a rest, I did the same a few years back when I was wrapped up too tightly into too many subjects and came back differently (I hope) and also built bridges with those I knew I was over zealous with

I am baffled by this. I mean, you've explained it very clearly yet I still find it baffling. I genuinely hope you find some peace mate...

My son who is just about to turn 16 hasn't missed a home game in the last 5 years and we go to any away game we can get to.

For the first time since he has been supporting Spurs, he said he would rather give the last 2 home games a miss as he just doesn't enjoy watching us anymore and he has a friend who said the same. Quite sad that even young supporters feel disconnected.

It’s an impressionable age isn’t it? Like sponges to others opinions, especially ones they look up to.

Thankfully there were almost a quarter of a million people at the parade yesterday, young and old, looking fully engaged in it. Every young Spurs supporter I know is absolutely buzzing right now!

You're not alone. I found this season so depressing that I felt I was done with watching Spurs and getting bruised. It felt like a giant waste of time, money and emotional and physical energy - and at 70, I've got less of all of that than I once had. I wasn't going to watch the final as I was pretty sure we'd lose. Fortunately my son insisted that I watch the screening at WHL, which was wonderful. There is definitely potential in our team, but only with a manager with some common sense. Can Ange be that man? No idea :) Still I renewed the ST, I'll be around for whatever fortune throws at us next season.

Yeah he is buzzing about the cup win, we were also there yesterday for the parade.

Now weve won the cup he disagrees with my views that Ange should go (which I like, and we actually had a really good debate about it last night!) but he definitely hasn't got the same enthusiasm as he once did.

You want to listen to the pod on a Monday. Always puts things into perspective for me after a loss, whether I agree with what the chaps are talking about or not. Normally I do, or it makes me consider things from a different angle.

Also, I'm making an assumption if you feel like that at the moment, you weren't around for, or don't clearly remember, the late eighties and nineties?
