England have been very fortunate to avoid all the big teams from the qualifying right until now. This is England's best chance to reach their first World Cup final since 1966. England won't get a better chance than this. They will only have themselves to blame if they don't make use of their golden chance to reach the World Cup final.

Want to see this match settled in normal time. But there is a chance it might goes into extra time and penalties. England did well to win their first ever penalty shootout against Colombia. But all the 4 teams who have taken penalties first have lost the shootout in this World Cup. So, whoever asked to take the penalties first either should refuse to take it or should just give the walkover to the other team ! It will save the disappointment of losing the penalties !

I think we will have a better chance. The way we've been dominating youth international football for a while, our top players are mostly still in the pipeline. We're doing a great job now with largely mediocre players. Even by the Euros we'll likely have the likes of Sessegnon, Sancho, Winks and Foden in the side. This campaign is the start of things
 
Could you imagine the 3rd/4th place play off with Belgium if England lose. Literally no one would want to see that!
 
I’ve got absolutely no idea what will happen tonight - but what a fantastic occasion.

If England score from open play and beat Croatia then they have answered every single question posed except the most ridiculous one.
 
Its a nervous time now, I feel like if I could live without the game every comign and bottle this feeling I would, I was 8 during 1990 so this is my first and prime England moment and I feel its not gonna come again, wow I feel sick in the stomach.

When my dad said he never felt he would see this again whilst he was alive it hit home.

You have just written pretty much what I have been thinking. My nerves from this morning had dissipated but have now returned with a vengeance. But it is nerves mixed with excitement.
I remember 1990 well, being in my twenties then, and it was great. But whether it is just the passage of time or what I don't know, but this one feels better still.

It's funny, I was thinking how I don't feel nervous about this game at all right now. When it gets going I'll get tense, but at the moment I'm just looking forward to it. Contrast that to how I feel with Spurs on the day of the derby, I'm climbing the walls on those days!

We are a similar age, I was only 6 during Italia 90 and I don't remember it much. I think with Harry captain of England, a likeable manager and no proper qunts in the team, I've been just enjoying supporting this England side. And it's been a really good World Cup overall too, whatever happens.

Can't ever remember looking forward to watching England as much as I'm looking forward to tonight. We could get to a World Cup final! On colour telly!
 
Probably gonna face some fresh tests tonight, mainly at the back. No-one has really brought it to us yet.

Plus we need to give Kane some bullets (not just pens), he is our deadly finisher.

Hopefully Southgate has alternative plans up his sleeve if we need to change it up.

It looks like a close one, and maybe our youthful energy, and their tired legs will swing it our way. COE

First goal is crucial. No team has managed to turn it around to win from a losing position in this tournament.
