HT team talk wasn't effective. We needed to be ready to play better 2nd half. Southgate needed to create adversity and determination at HT. Was clear Croatia would improve in the second.
But credit Croatia, tiny nation, showed more composure when it mattered. We looked lost and nervous after ht, chasing them around, rather than dictating.
Couldn't deliver on that first half promise, mentally weren't strong enough.
