So, this is something I realised years ago - capitalists don't care about this.
Capitalists work with what they can profit from now and in the near future. When the world's burns more, they'll sell new houses, new sofas, new TVs to replace the ones destroyed. The world adapting is irrelevant for them. The preparation to make the small gains is irrelevant. They'll just pivot to solve the problem of the time, rather than act to stop the problem occurring.
The planet will adapt and the planet will recover.
The question is about how long it stays suitable for human habitation and which parts. It certainly won't remain habitable for the current population (unless we decide to live in smaller areas but build upwards) for much longer. I guess the next 50-100 years will see massage change in how humans live here.
I know this sounds nihilistic (and it is a bit), but it's time to just live. Humanity doesn't have the capability to fix what we've created. We have evolved to have immense intelligence as animals, but not evolved to know how to use it properly. Maybe the next evolution will help with that?
