I've been pondering something different about Ange, but one of the things that is quite odd about him is he is a bit of a lone wolf. He doesn't tend to bring staff members with him he tends to just rock up and let a club build a team around him. I'm not sure if he's ever faced a kind of season like this one and he certainly probably hasn't faced it with the kind of global scrutiny you get in an elite league
Agree up to here.
.....but you really need to be challenged when you're in charge. You need to have that trust and two-way challenging discussions particularly in stressful situations. I look at our coaches. Young. Not that experienced. And I look at Ange's personality. Look at the way he can be when he's challenged by reporters.

Do you think there's much challenge in terms of training, tactics or team selection? Or do you think the coaches just keep out of Ange's way and let him get on with it. Can imagine if one of them did challenge him he'd stare at them or snarl at them and they would whimper off with their tail vstween their legs never to mention it again.....

I don't think Ange needs challenging. What he needs is support. Part of a loyal team's job is to shield and protect a leader. Ange probably doesn't have that. So he is exposed. He is extremely experienced and smart in many ways. The biggest gaps I see are his management during games. But that seems common to a lot of managers (poch etc). Only a few can see and think cogently from the touchline. Most seem to need a replay and time. You never see Ange pull a player over and give them some advice. That isnt his style but shows me hes not the best without time to think and appraise.

You see the clip today of the fella shouting “we’re going down with you” and Ange comes back out and stares him out of it. Third time that’s happened. It’s small time carry on from a fella who doesn’t like being challenged by anyone.

His behaviour has been getting really undignified. The rudeness and bullying of journalists is unacceptable too. Its just small time.

It’s not even like he was shouting insults at Ange where he maybe more justified. The guy was just stating an opinion.

Don’t blame him, I would stare him out as well for such a defeatist attitude.

Ultimately I think Ange will go anyways and I don’t think he has helped himself, however, anyone in their right minds who seriously think we can easily beat prem league teams (irrespective of position) with effectively our C team and academy products are deluding themselves.

Sarr should never be playing, not fit, but I’m glad Davies was at least rested. I’m personally amazed we have not bought anyone else in (we have 4 free spots ffs) and while I get summer is easier and while I think when we get some players back we will move back up quickly I would rather not wait for the last 6/7 games of the season

Which is why we deserve to be relegated. The more I think about it the more I want us to be relegated so that bald pricks value can plummet.

Tbh I don't even think we have a choice, on form we are going down and Leicester wolves are better than us anyway so we will be 18th. Even United are now 5 points better than us.
We are the worse team in the league at the moment . Play absolute dross week in week out. I can see us, Ipswich and Southampton going down. Maybe we need a complete reset. If it happens the Levy will have to go. He can take his 6 mill salary for this season and fook off.

Davies has been our fill in cb/ lb forever.
Says it all about our club.

Isn’t the defeatist attitude on the shoulders of a manager who buries his head in the sand because he wants to portray himself as some sort of footballing evangelist out to entertain the masses with an overinflated opinion of his own ability rather than the fans who are burdened with the horror of this bizarre social experiment unfolding before our eyes week after week?

the Levy out mob wanted him to take a step back from the footballing side of things… well this is what you get.

Please.
He is absolutely involved. It's just he has layers of protection between him and the footballing side of things. But we all heard he was there closing the Kinsky deal, so don't be fooled.

And we haven't learned with Kane era either when we would just hope he wouldn't get injured cos we couldn't find a competent striker for 15yrs.

Same with our keepers. Keep extending a 44yr old contract and hope Vic never gets injured for a period of time. Same with a lack or LB recently. Window after window we are left wanting

Deep down we all knew what could happen in our immediate Post-Kane world...

Another wild question really. And I am really tired of the 'look when he's challenged by reporters' trope. He ws fronted with a snide, dig-you-out-to-get-a-reaction quote from some cut-rate scum 'journo' not worth their place in the trade (sadly more common than ever in the UK media these days). His big problem there is he rose to the bait for a few seconds. Contrast some opf our remedia with the German press on Thursday, who asked some great and challening serious questions which got great answers, and the post-match interview today by Brazilian journo Natalie Vedra was another example of real questions not cheap hunting.

...and if you even had an inkling that what you said in the last paragraph was true, then the first head you should be howling for is that of Munn who hired him, yet gets a virtual free pass around these parts.

Another example of a man completely out of his depth and managing in a league with real pressure.

Should be head down and into the tunnel after comments as harmless as that.

He needs to reign himself in for sure. I think we can safely say that he has had little rest and is running on fumes and stress himself. Not an excuse, but a pretty understandable reason?
