He needs to reign himself in for sure. I think we can safely say that he has had little rest and is running on fumes and stress himself. Not an excuse, but a pretty understandable reason?
Yeah, but there is no point trying to correct supporters who pay good money to watch and voice their opinion. I don’t agree with all that is spouted out but I do fully support fans right to have an opinion within the laws.

We wouldn’t be in this situation if Postecoglu had any idea how to manage the team correctly

The hindsight expert phalanx is in full motion.
"He should have played they player instead of that player.... Blah, blah, blah"
"This would never happened if he just did this at that point... Blah, blah, blah"

Frankly, the lot of you are pathetic!

In the case of Sarr and Richi it’s absolutely legitimate criticism. The manager came out afterwards and said himself Sarr shouldn’t have played and Richi should have come off. That’s information he had before kick off and we didn’t and he had reasonable alternatives. It’s reckless management.

And the same people would be livid if they hadn't started. You kind of proved my point.

In reflection and looking at the upcoming fixtures, I think that is probably right

We only have one league game now between today and Feb 15th (Brentford away) and 3 cup games

Rightly or wrongly I think the board like let him carry on and oversee the Elfsborg and Brentford games (the latter which will be another defeat)

Defeat at Anfield and it will be, we didnt expect to win it but...

It will just be a case of whether he is given the chance to beat Villa or he is gone on the Friday after Liverpool.

One thing is for sure if we are out of both cups he CANNOT be in charge for the two massive games v United and Ipswich
Another way of looking at that gap is an opportunity for a professional football manager to use that time to hit the ground running when the league matches start again.

To be fair people have been calling for rotating in Reguilon in particular for quite a while, and also giving Lankshear more game time.

But worth remembering that the option being called for that the manager isn't using (right now) is playing a left back he clearly doesn't rate and start with two 18 year olds in midfield.

His options are, and have been, severely limited. And we don't actually know how the alternative would have worked out.

There are things he could have done differently. Maybe that would have worked, maybe not. But he's working with very limited tools at the moment. The club seems to recognise that, that's the reason he's still here imo.

Another wild question really. And I am really tired of the 'look when he's challenged by reporters' trope. He ws fronted with a snide, dig-you-out-to-get-a-reaction quote from some cut-rate scum 'journo' not worth their place in the trade (sadly more common than ever in the UK media these days). His big problem there is he rose to the bait for a few seconds. Contrast some opf our remedia with the German press on Thursday, who asked some great and challening serious questions which got great answers, and the post-match interview today by Brazilian journo Natalie Vedra was another example of real questions not cheap hunting.

...and if you even had an inkling that what you said in the last paragraph was true, then the first head you should be howling for is that of Munn who hired him, yet gets a virtual free pass around these parts.
There's been nothing wrong with the questions he's been asked. Asking him about a familiar story and how he feels about is perfectly reasonable and isn't snide at all. You're really defending the indefensible here.

Well I think its starting to look like no decision is being made anytime soon. As alluded to in the post above, whether we agree or not, its looks like he will be staying for 2 more weeks, but I fully expect the axe to fall 2 weeks today

He will be in charge for Thursday and Sunday, then I thjnk the board will give him the 2 cup games to save his job, which I doubt he will as I can only see both ending in exits from the respective competitions.

I would like to think we already have irons in the fire now in readiness for his departure, but I wont hold my breath.

It will just be if we run with Mason or Montgomery until Summer, a very risky move for me

2 weeks today, lose to Brentford, lose to Pool so no chance of silverware (let's face it we havent faced anyone decent in the Carabao and would lose to anyone in the FA Cup and Europa we will get smashed by anyone decent).

So, closer to the relegation zone, playing United who are further away from danger and playing Villa with a new manager in the FA Cup.

Makes sense to keep Ange for these two weeks I guess...

I think he will be gone by the end of the day. We cannot risk this guy having another game in charge. Apart from anything, he is not handling the pressure well. Unfortunately he is just not cut out for this league.

Btw sacking him now is not the same as sacking Jose before the cup final.

I have hoped that too but journalists saying Spurs are sticking with him. I'm just totally stunned by how incompetent the Spurs board are currently.

I might decide to be terrible at my job today and see what happens. Might get a payrise.

They wouldn’t have been livid if they’d known the players didn’t play due to injuries. Disappointed? Yes. Livid? No.

I’d argue that playing both Romero and VDV against Chelsea is a similar case. Myself - and many, many others inside the ground - were very surprised at the decision and discussed the likelihood of one or both having to be withdrawn through injury part-way-through.

Too many of his man management decisions are flawed, reckless and utterly lacking in basic good judgment.

Isn’t the defeatist attitude on the shoulders of a manager who buries his head in the sand because he wants to portray himself as some sort of footballing evangelist out to entertain the masses with an overinflated opinion of his own ability rather than the fans who are burdened with the horror of this bizarre social experiment unfolding before our eyes week after week?
Bizarre experiment? Looks more like our entire 1st team is injured and those who are not are run into the ground.

Unless you work in the spurs medical team you have no idea the fitness of the likes of Reggie, Moore, Davies etc..it’s easy as fans to say just play x he’s a LB etc. He is clearly protecting the academy players by ensuring enough senior players are also on the pitch to guide them, hardly want to destroy the confidence etc before their career has even started. The fact he has thrown Bergvall/Moore/Gray into the lineups at least shows he plays them when he thinks they are ready.

As for tactics, well he tried to change his tactic in the first half against Everton, the tactic the squad have trained for for the last 18 months and we saw how that went. Face facts the squad is decimated, our players are clearly trying hard so irrespective on whether I think Ange will stay or go (I think he will and perhaps should go in the summer) I would rather support our reserve/academy team and not be setting a mindset of you are getting relegated or that effort they are giving disappears very quickly especially with young players.

Could I state, this is not what I want, its what I am sumising our board will do and what is behind their thinking.

I personally wanted him gone weeks ago, I think IIRC it was the Monday before the Soton game, its been coming for that long. As it was the 5-0 win papered over gaps a mile wide and gave him extended time when we should have been bringing in a new face and giving him a few weeks to assess the squad before the Transfer WIndow

No I know that mate, Im just stating how I feel. Understood your point.

Actually thats a good point, had we lost that then it was more pressure. That said, I dont think they would have sacked him then as the results have been horrific since and not even a mention of being sacked.

I am not a Levy hater but blimey that would be an awful decision.
As you know Rob I've backed Ange but I did say were he to lose to Leicester the game really should be up as we've lost to Everton which I was 'okay' with due to Moyes first home game in charge and now the team 19th in the league at home - I never expected it to be easy but didn't think we would actually lose. I always excused him due to the injuries (even acknowledging he has to take at least part responsibilty for it, I'm loathe to overly criticise when I'm not privy to the data and facts) but I'm not sure where he's really going from here. The only part of positivity would be that most players should be returning in the next few weeks and if we can get the job done in the EL Thursday that will lighten the load for a short while and I do think with a stronger squad we will be fine but how can we rely on there not being more injury crisis in the future?

And if we were to get rid of Ange, I'm really not sure who would come in now - I know people are saying anyone will do but I don't buy that, and I pray to GHod it won't be Mason again! If they aren't getting rid of him now, I can only assume/hope that we are going to help him out in the final days of the transfer market, enough to see us over the line this season then look at who we can get in the summer. I'm 99% sure Levy would have made the decision now, it's just a question of when is best to pull the trigger.....
