I wanted him to succeed, i had said give him 3 seasons, even when it gets rough.

But this is beyond my realms of understanding just how bad it could get, and the fact that I don't understand his process of trying to limit damage and his stubbornness.

The fact that he just either doesn't get it, or thinks he has a team of Messi's and Rons that he don't need to adjust to what team he plays against, and the injuries.....the lack of basic defensive ideas ......its just baffling and I do want him gone

It's with a heavy heart I have to throw in the towel on him.

That performance last night was appalling. It's definitely on the players too. But he picked them. How Sarr gets on the pitch baffles me. He can't pass a ball. Maybe you can get away with one of those players. But he then picks bissoama and Bentancur. All solidly useless players. I know nothing but yet I can see more than Angelou. Son is a shadow of himself but I can see why he still picks him.

The tactics he employed last night went against everything he ever said. When kulu broke he was on his own. That was unforgivable to me. If he had gone down 4 nil but attacked I would still have backed him. But last night was gutless.

Spurs and Levy have broken another one

pathetic.

Far worse teams have gone there and put more of a shift in, and at least had a shot on goal. Awful.

trying to play out from the back constantly against the best team in the league and wondering why it didn't work. superb.

Saudi Sportswashing Machine had 2 games vs Arsenal. less possession, less shots on goal, less passes in final 3rd in both games. Went through 4-0 on aggregate.

this team is better than where Ange has us. Dont believe the flimflam on injuries. we didn't have a shot on goal FFS. should have sacked him in December and we could have got Iraola in. Now we'll limp on til Summer pointlessly.

Dont believe the flimflam on injuries.

Are you saying it's not true? That missing:

- Vicario
- Romero
- van de Ven
- Dragusin
- Udogie
- Maddison
- Johnson
- Odobert
- Werner
- Solanke

won't have an affect? That it won't affect the way we play? That it won't affect other players who can't get a rest because the only remaining players are 18 or younger, literally never played a game?

The injuries aren't the only problem. But they're a fudging huge one and, like I said in another thread, you are an absolute fudging macaron if you think they don't have an impact. It doesn't take much to understand.

I think so

If he's being questioned about his tactics and he says he always wins, that's potentially showing a mindset of someone closed off to alternatives. It can't be wrong cause I've proved that it always works previously so it's going to work again.

The use of language can never be pointless, especially when your job is to communicate. I don't have an issue with what he said, but it's clear what he meant.
Exactly we had just lost for the second successive time at home against our greatest rivals without really landing a punch despite his reputation as an “attacking manager”.

Unfortunately Ange’s opinion of himself is rather higher than what he is actually capable of.
It was a silly comment and one which will probably define his tenure at the club

It will have an affect but is even more amplified when you have a manager who is out of his depth and has been so since November 2023

Alex fudging Ferguson would find it difficult to get a tune out of a team this disrupted by injuries for as long as we've had. It's literally 3 solid months of 10 or so players -- first team, experienced and good quality players -- out. Every time we get someone back, another gets injured. Richarlison yesterday, Dragusin the other day. It's fudging ridiculous.

Because I know some people don't read posts properly: INJURIES DON'T ABSOLVE HIM OF EVERYTHING. But they explain a pretty fudging big part of the story.

I'd take Southgate till the end of the season over 3 more months of Ange, it's that bad
If I thought it would only be for 3 months then I'd agree. Terrible feeling that Levy would like what he saw (someone unlikely to give him a hard time to the press, no compensation to be paid, safe pair of hands) and we'd be stuck with for a couple of years.

They don’t as he been consistently rubbish (bar a few isolated standout results) since November 2023, injuries or no injuries.

This is a manager blatantly out of his depth and probably our worst managerial appointment since Christian Gross

I'm confused. It was you who made it up, then you who say you have no idea why people make things up?

Ange said [[[up to this point in my life, across lots of different jobs]]]"I win things in my second year".

He didn't say he will win things in his second year at THFC.

You know that though, why are you being like that?
You do appear to be confused, yes.
This should should sort out your confusion (this took about ten seconds to Google)

I think it’s more the inference he made, he has historically always won stuff in his second season ( I have no idea of this is true or not) and therefore why would this season be any different.

I think that’s the impression he wanted to give, which wasn’t a wise choice.
It was overt, not inferred.
Yeah I agree it was very unwise. Very few managers ever can say that and back it up - to do it in a League you are new to and in the early stages of a build is either:
I. Naive
II. Incorrectly arrogant
III. Ballsy and brilliant.

III. Only works if it comes off. Even someone like Mourinho wouldn't have said it coming into this season. Hell, even doped up under Abramovich he wouldn't have quite gone that far.

This season has been horrendous with injuries and how they've destroyed any kind of rhythm.
That said, we are underperforming.

I've slightly changed my view - I'll judge him at the end of the season now (provided we don't look like getting relegated) on a balance of the two years, of March - May (when we'll have players available), and accounting for the injuries in period.
He has made us more defensively secure recently. But that has been at the expense of attacking threat mostly. So I'm interested to see if he can combine the two

No, I just can't be bothered, I'd only be repeating myself. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but there no longer is any. Wake me when he's out the door and gone and a long way away, and I don't have to look at his face or listen to the sound of his fuсking voice repeating the same empty platitudes after every abject loss ever again. It's enough now.

"I don't really assess other teams." There really is nothing more to be said.

I have less of an issue with what he said about winning in his second year, my question is, how can a manager so proud of such a record, then send out such a badly prepared team as we saw last night?

It’s another disconnect between what he says, and what he does.

One thing that I don’t really understand is why Kinsky’s long passes haven’t been as expected. The highlights reel when he joined seemed to show that this was one of his strong areas. If it is then why aren’t we utilising it? We need to mix it up. We need teams to not know and have other ways that we can play out of the press.

Solanke being out doesn’t help as I think he would be the target for any longer distribution.

That's a different version to the one I recall. He was asked about it and said "I'm just stating a fact. I've won something in my second year everywhere I've been so I believe I can do it again. If I don't, I won't be able to say it next year."

It was a naive thing to say in the clip you've posted and he made a rod for his own back. For most of his time here, he's had a bit of a chip on his shoulder about how he's portrayed and has alluded to it a few times. His nationality and his track record seem to be two areas where he feels particularly slighted and, to be fair, I can understand why. However, at times he's tried just a little too hard to convince everyone he has the credentials to manage at this level...the evidence on the pitch has been pretty damning IMO.
