I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

Re: Official - Lamela

I am not a Sherwood fan boy and think he is not good enough for us but I think it sets a very bad precedent if the board tell the manager who ever he maybe who to play.

Agree with the view that a few meaningless games at the end of the season would help Lamela start next season well and also boast his chances of making the world cup which would make him happier and more likely to want to play well for us.

It does indeed because it's been made so public; you just have to ask: why??

Re: Official - Lamela

I'v always supported the manager even if I didn't want him at Spurs. But for the first time I want Sherwood out. This guy is poison...Every time he opens his mouth he is poisoning the air within my club. I'm not a football manager, but I am a manager. Some behaviour transcends over all aspects of life. This guy doesn't have a clue. He is ripping the heart out of my club before he gets the elbow. I want Sherwood out.

What has he said that you think is poison and why?

Why do you say this? Can you give specific examples?

Re: Official - Lamela

TBH As a shareholder I kind of want to know what his costs to Roma are.. no bull**** figures, proper figures. How much he is earning also.

Simply, there must be a large sum payable after a number of games, simply must be.

If not, I think this is gross negligence on Sherwoods door mat, especially considering how he came into the job with supposed whispers in Levy's ear about Ade not in the squad, thus the fallout being AVB leaving. A manager not having a 30m pound asset in the squad is a sackable offence no matter how ****e or unfit he may be. At least integrate him into the fcuking squad you foockin idiot and not play him.

Sherwood thought he was clever with the Bentaleb crap, look Mr Levy, I just made you a 8m player. Yet on the other hand... Fook you Mr Levy you just lost 20m.

Think its Levy & Baldini distancing themselves from the decision not to play Lamela very publically and possibly saying to Lamela's camp, don't worry, we're behind you, this clown will be gone in a few games (that's what I hope anyway)

Re: Official - Lamela

Cannot wait for the season to be over and our very own Duke of Edinburgh to do one…I trust Lamela will have next season to show himself...

Re: Official - Lamela

we wont see him again.
just like when dos santos got best young player in the last world cup then came back to spurs and did not get a game in the prem.

how he can say them things about lamela when he gives lennon chance after chance.

lamela has more ability then lennon

Re: Official - Lamela

Lamela is a young kid from a foreign country. He needs a manager to make him feel wanted and he needs nurturing. Not an egomaniac belittling him and making him an outcast. Sherwood is like a school bully picking on the quiet little kid who won't fight back. He is publicly taking the **** out of Lamela. He won't try it with vertongan again cos he knows Jan will fight back. The reason I say poison is because by the time he leaves and the new manager comes in, many of our players will be mentally destroyed. The new manager will have a bigger job to do which will require more time. It's not just Lamela, there's Jan, Dembeli, Holtby, paulhnio, chiriches. He has had issues with all of them.

Agree completely. Capoue and Soldado, and maybe even Sandro also seem to have been alienated to some extent. What you really don't want to see is half a dozen players desperate to leave in the summer because of this, perhaps feeling Sherwood or the club are responsible for them not going to the World Cup, or just generally down because of the dreadful atmosphere around the club. As a club you want to have happy players and to be able to decide on comings and goings depending on the needs of the team, not because of personality clashes or because they don't rate the coaches.

This is why the club needs to draw a line under the Sherwood era ASAP and show the players and fans that better times lie ahead.

Sanrdo has been injured? why are you ignoring this fact?

At the risk of turning this into another Sherwood discussion, but I found this quote from Sherwood (via Greg Stobart's twitter) related to what you're saying:

Chiriches fouls Johnson stupidly. Sherwood: "F*ck off!!! Is he f*cking thick?"

https://twitter.com/gstobart/status/453262973734494208

I might be overreaction here, as others have been accused of doing, and it might very well be that Chiriches never heard this comment from Sherwood or through others, but I feel fairly safe in saying that I don't see this as the optimal environment for players fresh to the league to adapt to the league and club.

Agreed. His treatment of him was disgraceful and was more than likely a '**** you he wasn't my signing' message to the board.

I agree too. I don't think Sherwood is treating all of our players perfectly, but AVB deserves most of the blame when talking of Lamela since Lamela has been injured for most of Sherwood's stint in charge at least.

Just to repeat what has previously been pointed out, AVB chose to give Lamela his full league debut away to a massively in form Emirates Marketing Project playing out of position on the left side of midfield asking him to protect a somewhat out of position Vertonghen at the same time. This at a time when we had players with more experience playing on the left in the PL available.

I just cannot see how that was a good choice...

Re: Official - Lamela

Not only that Braineclipse...

He started him in the Europa game on Thurs where he was our MOTM and had a brilliant game. AVB then drops him for a home game vs Saudi Sportswashing Machine? then we don't see him until City away where he starts on the left of midfield?

There's no logical explanation to drop him 3 days after he puts in a MOTM performance and scores. It stinks of AVB acting like a bitter idiot.

I suppose the amount of obscenity in your post indicates how emotional and therefore illogical you were when making this post.
But read the bold bit again.
A player should be in the squad regardless of how unfit he is because of his price tag?
How high must a price tag be to justify this exalted status where fitness and physical condition no longer matters? £10 million? £20 million? £25 million?
Money not only talks but heals apparently.

Re: Official - Lamela

Ronaldo cost £80m but Madrid still aren't playing him at the moment, maybe £100m is the threshold ;)

As for Lamela, us signing him is relative to Madrid signing Bale. Difference is they played Bale from the start and are reaping the rewards whereas we ****ed about and have more or less wasted a year as a result.

Re: Official - Lamela

Why do you think we've ****ed up? Lamela's problems have been from being injured, he got injured even when not playing so if he was picked by managers whenever fit he'd have most likely just been injured sooner. Hopefully he's back to full fitness by pre season and takes the opportunity to show his talents

Re: Official - Lamela

He wasn't injured from Aug 30th to Dec 15th, in that time AVB gave him two league starts, way to go Andre. Even to this day he's yet to start a league game at WHL, what perfection
