Poch tried the older ones first

Ange has gone for it from day 1, I think he knows he requires a complete shift of mentality and the older (more comfortable?) player will be the issue.

The high energy/press game is a young man's game, I do find it interesting Perisic (everyone has always said is a model Pro) has found himself on the in.
What's the point in keeping the older players if they aren't good enough? We know and surely he knows they aren't based upon the results of the last few seasons. Experience is a great thing to have but quality is far more important.

Tell him he’s not getting a squad number and then see if he still wants to remain at Spurs this season. Having watched us yesterday, I think Dier would be an even greater disaster in this formation than he was when being hid away in a back 3 last season.

I don't think there's any way back into the side for him, too. Having said that, the guy deserves some respect. At the end of the day, he wasn't good enough and although he may have been a poor influence in the dressing room (then again, some rumours are just that, rumours) I don't remember saying anything bad about the club. He looked like he gave it his best shot. It wasn't enough, bar for a couple of seasons, but it's not really his fault. It's not like he's stealing his wages, like that clown Ruel Fox 30 years ago.

Yeah, Probably hinges on what we can extract from A.Madrid. sounds like they are being a bit cheeky with their valuation so far, although I would take any half decent offer at this point if it gives us time to help bring new players in
I'd be extracting João Felix

We missed the boat on Ferguson by failing to identify him when he was at Bohemians. Of course yet again it was Brighton who did what they should do. We of course didn’t do what we should do. Shock.
Take a breath. Jamie Donley is a similar profile and we probably scouted him from Ireland in the same way Brighton have with Ferguson. I'd say a route to the first team at Brighton is far easier than here (maybe a little easier now with Ange), Ferguson looks at talent but is only 20 games in. Donley has looked a standout, a well rounded forward for the 18s, 21s. Maybe he made a mistake coming to us?

After anges comments the last few weeks i'd be surprised if lo celso was sold. Depends on the offer i guess and if he wants to stay.
I think we will sell him
Ange wants players out and again will adapt
We could shift lo celso, who imo has been a standout pre season and buy Kudus who may be an even better fit

I don’t think he is a poor influence in the dressing room
It’s why previous coaches have picked of his leadership skills
He shows it there and then
There was some good examples, admittedly edited, in the Amazon doc
But they doesn’t make him good enough on the pitch of course

If there is a next-level forward to be had, and we can afford them...

The only thing is Richi was 60m. He is decent, if not stellar, and we need to give him a bit of time. If we buy in another forward we might not give either enough time to settle and develop. Tricky one. I think most feel like Richarlison isn't the long-term solution, but we have to give him a go first.

He deserves a fair run of games but equally the window shuts in a few weeks, we can't just wait and see what happens if someone like Orban is available we have to get them.

We've only got 2 games before window closes, hardly gives him time to prove he can do it, as he doesnt hold the ball up well or win many headers on the half way line it might be worth swapping him and Son.

Agree. We moaned that we took an age to get a back up for HK and thought Son could do a job, now we 100% need a back up to Richie 1. Because he still has question marks over his ability 2. His injury record has been poor.

Maybe Son and Richarlison will look better against sides that don't sit so deep? They both still had chances yesterday in any case, and we still found goals from other sources. Both Brentford's goals were lucky too, so if we'd won, would we still be worried?

100%
Brentford’s game is to play deep, stifle the game and play long
It’s conte ball
But…. That suits sonny as an attacker of course and possibly Richy too

We still need another option off the bench for CF at the very least.
