There were rumours he wanted to move back to Italy, a free transfer might get him better wages it's not always a case of I want X wage or I'm staying. If he wants to move back to Italy then he'd have to take a cut.
Hard to believe we sanctioned that wage for a 33yr old even if it was a free transfer.

I think Davies only counts as foreign in Europe? And I think it's because he lived/played in Denmark as a kid, not to do with Swansea's status.

Davies spent 8 years in Swansea's academy before turning pro so it means nothing that he also spent a couple of years in Denmark.

More important to do our incoming business though no? Last season we did it within the first 32 days of the window, so quick. The fact that some didnt work out wasn't timing of our business.
The fact we have done a fair old bit of our incoming now far outweighs getting rid of players, if they leave now or get dumped into areas of the club without squad numbers is far less important

The problems are everyone knows we have players to clear and are waiting for the fire sale and the wages some of these players are on, we can only control the price we are willing to accept. At sometime we will probably have to take a massive hit and release some from their contracts as they may become a problem hanging around with no input.

None of them have much value, save maybe Hojbjerg. What are we talking?:
Lloris - £0
Spence - £10m
Reguilon - £7m
Sessegnon - £7m
Perisic - £0
Rodon - £5m
Tanganga - £5m
Sanchez - £10m
Hojbjerg - £25m
Ndombele - £10m
Gil - £15m
Now that's £100m combined, which is significant. But nobody surely is hanging on to deadline day to get Tanganga for £4m, rather than £5M?

Those look reasonable fees but we don't know what the club is looking for or the financial position of other clubs and their priorities, all will become clearer nearer deadline day.
